WATERCOLOR
Watercolor is a fun way to begin painting because of the fast drying time and fairly inexpensive nature of the materials. However, it can be a challenging medium because of the need to use the underlying white paper as part of the process. The general trend is to paint from light to dark with the parer or board color representing white and shades of light color. When I desire more opaque water-based colors, I use designers gouche or acrylic.
